L'ÉVEIL DE LA PERMACULTURE

Feature documentary

Developing and animating illustrated sequences to explain
the principles of sustainable agriculture on the big screen.

L’Éveil de la Permaculture is a feature-length documentary directed by Adrien Bellay that explores the history, philosophy, and practical applications of permaculture. Upon its release, the film enjoyed a successful theatrical run in France, bringing these ecological concepts to the big screen.

My contribution to the film involved creating four long, crucial animated sequences designed to explain the core principles and historical roots of permaculture.

The project started with conceptual drawings provided by the film's cinematographer, Marco Perrois. My role was to take these raw sketches and turns them into fully colored illustrations. From there, I animated the assets to create smooth, clear narratives.

The challenge was to maintain an organic, hand-drawn feel while ensuring the technical clarity needed to explain complex ecological systems. These four sequences act as educational and visual chapters within the film, helping the audience digest dense concepts easily.
