Tech Flow is the annual meeting point for decision-makers, entrepreneurs, startups and innovation players in Centre-Val de Loire. For the 2026 edition, held on 13 October at the MAME in Tours, I designed and produced the opening title sequence: a short film that welcomes the audience, sets the tone of the day and introduces its three themes and its speakers.
The challenge
An event opening has to do a lot in very little time. It had to:
Set out the three themes of the edition: Choose, Transform, Grow.
Launch and catch the audience's attention with a strong visual proposal.
Build excitement for the day's programme.
Extend Tech Flow's visibility online before, during and after the event, through shares of the film.
The idea: a quest toward innovation
The three themes echo any entrepreneurial journey, where the unknown is both the challenge and the fuel.
Tech Flow isn't a destination but a stopover: a place to regain your bearings, recharge, and set off again.
So the film is a short journey, a symbolic metaphor for the flow of the quest for innovation. We follow an idea, embodied by a glowing sphere of light, as it wanders through an unknown, abstract world.
A visual universe rooted in the event's identity
I wanted to blend technology and poetry. I took Tech Flow's own graphic language, its topographic contour lines, and gave it perspective. The flat lines rise into terrain, and the landscape becomes the world our light travels through.
The visual direction rests on four ideas: volume and perspective, play of light, abstract forms and dynamic compositions, and "flow" as an allusion to path and travel. The palette stays luminous, with solar accents against deep blues.
Behind the render
The forms in the "Choose" sequence aren't placed by hand. I built them procedurally with Geometry Nodes in Blender. A collection of shapes is instanced along a spiral curve, each instance aligned to the curve's tangent and normal, then randomly rotated for variety. A proximity effector tied to the sphere of light drives the scale of each shape, so the forms react as the light passes close to them. The setup can be art-directed and reworked quickly, which was essential on a tight schedule.

The process
The storyboard locks the story, so the film never loses its way. It brings together the visual storytelling and an understanding with the team at Tech Flow.
Look development locks the visual universe, so we know what to expect.
Animatic locks the rhythm, so timing and sound are right before rendering.
Final edit is left with a single job: making it beautiful.
By the time the heavy work starts, nothing essential is still open. That certainty is what gives the final stage room to be creative.
